We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our manufacturing team in Launceston. In this role, you will support the production process by assisting with assembly, equipment setup, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace. Your proactive approach and aptitude will help ensure smooth operations, high-quality output, and timely completion of production goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the creation of top-tier products.

Duties

  • Following completion of training and familiarisation;
  • Safe and effective assembly of product components in line with established designs.
  • Cutting glass by hand.
  • Loading, programming, firing and emptying kilns.
  • Operation of machinery following training and competency review.
  • Making products in accordance with given production list priorities.
  • Strict observance of health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Housekeeping of personal working areas.
  • Submission of glass cutting request lists in line with production requirements.
  • Operating within a lead exposure environment and safe use of lead products.
  • Have working knowledge of/be able to create most products within the interiors range.
  • Kiln maintenance, initially under supervision.
  • There will also be a requirement to assist other departments during busy periods.
  • Having a good attitude, a proactive approach to safe working and being able to work as a member of a multi-faceted team is key to this role.
  • Follow detailed instructions and safety protocols during all phases of production
  • Inspect materials and finished products for quality assurance purposes
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines
  • Help with inventory management by organising supplies and tracking parts used in assembly

Skills

  • Physically fit, basic IT skills, literate and numerate.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Good self-organisational, team work and communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • A health and safety conscious attitude is essential.
  • Basic assembly skills with attention to detail and precision
  • Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining focus on individual tasks
  • Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and report issues promptly

37.5 Hours Per Week, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
