MERCURE HOTEL, BRISTOL
Established in 2010, interior designers Central Design Studio create spaces centered around how a space feels rather than just how it looks and have worked for clients worldwide.
Specific brief to create a bright abstract design based on the concept of graffiti for the refurbishment for the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel.
The design was developed in creative partnership with Northern Lights, who have been inspiring lighting solutions since 1987. Sample glass panels were designed for approval by Central Design Studio. A new multi-stage firing technique which includes the use of fireproof paper moulding and brilliantly coloured enamel powders was developed to create the finished lighting. All technical aspects were coordinated with Northern Lights to ensure correct size, weights and drill location placement.
